Step-by-step: how to register

  1. Create your account on mba.com with a valid email and mobile — use ones you'll still control in March 2027, since results, invites and admit communications all come here.
  2. Fill the profile: personal details, academics (X, XII, graduation percentages), work experience. Spellings must match your ID proof exactly — the test-centre check is strict.
  3. Select programmes/schools to receive your score. Choose all realistic targets now; adding later costs per report.
  4. Pay the registration fee and save the confirmation number.
  5. Schedule your slot: pick mode (test centre or online proctored), city, date and time inside the window. Metro-city weekend slots go first — schedule within days of registering.
  6. Download the confirmation/admit details and re-verify name spelling, photo requirements and ID rules.
Timing strategy: register in week one, but schedule your first attempt for mid-window (late November). That leaves room for the mandatory ~15-day gap before a retake and keeps the January retake window as a true third chance.

Documents and details you'll need

  • Photo ID: the same government ID (Aadhaar/passport/PAN/driving licence) you'll carry on test day — name must match your registration exactly.
  • Academic percentages for X, XII and graduation (CGPA conversions as per your university's rule).
  • Recent photograph per the spec in the bulletin (for the profile).
  • Work-experience details (months, organisation) if applicable — NMIMS uses it in shortlisting.
  • Card/UPI for payment; keep the transaction ID until your scorecard arrives.

Five registration mistakes that cost candidates every year

  1. Name mismatch with ID — the most common test-day rejection. Copy your ID exactly, including middle names.
  2. Waiting to schedule — registration without slot booking gets you leftover 8 a.m. weekday slots in far centres.
  3. Choosing only NMIMS Mumbai in score sends — add NMIMS Bengaluru/Hyderabad/Navi Mumbai/Indore and 2–3 non-NMIMS schools; it's free at registration.
  4. Booking the retake too early — respect the minimum gap and leave at least 10 days of prep between attempts.
  5. Ignoring the NMIMS application — NMIMS runs its own application on nmims.edu in addition to NMAT registration. Missing it makes your NMAT score useless for NMIMS.

Frequently asked questions

When will NMAT 2026 registration start?
It is expected to open in early August 2026, consistent with GMAC's calendar in recent years (NMAT 2025 opened in the first week of August). The official date will appear on mba.com — this page will be updated the day it's announced.
What is the NMAT registration fee for 2026?
GMAC hasn't published 2026 fees yet. Last cycle, main-window registration was about ₹3,600 + GST, late registration ~₹4,000 + GST, and each retake ~₹3,600 + GST. Expect similar or slightly higher amounts.
Do I need to apply to NMIMS separately after NMAT registration?
Yes — this catches many candidates. NMAT registration (mba.com) and the NMIMS programme application (nmims.edu) are two separate processes with separate fees and deadlines. You need both for NMIMS admission.
Can I change my test date after booking?
Yes, you can reschedule through your mba.com account up to 72 hours before your slot for a reschedule fee (recently ~₹1,300 + GST), subject to slot availability.
How many attempts does one registration allow?
One registration covers one attempt. Retakes (up to two more, for three total) are booked and paid separately, each with the mandatory gap between attempts. Schools automatically consider your best score.
