CUET UG 2026: Result Out — Scorecard, University Admissions & Next Steps

Status right now: The CUET UG 2026 result was declared on 23 June 2026 at cuet.nta.nic.in (final answer key: 21 June). The exam phase — 12 May to 3 June, with rescheduled sittings on 6–7 June — is fully closed. The action has moved to university-wise admissions: Delhi University's CSAS portal is live, and other central universities are opening their portals. There is no centralised CUET counselling.

What is CUET UG?

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG), conducted by NTA, is the single entrance exam for undergraduate admission to central universities — Delhi University, BHU, JNU, AMU, Jamia Millia Islamia, Allahabad and dozens more — and is also accepted by many state, deemed and private universities. Instead of dozens of university-specific exams, one CUET score feeds every participating university's merit list.

What changed in CUET UG 2026

  • No subject restrictions: candidates could choose any CUET subject regardless of their Class 12 stream.
  • CBT-only mode, with a fixed 60-minute duration per subject and no optional questions.
  • Subject list trimmed from 63 to 37; admissions for dropped subjects run on General Aptitude Test scores.

What to do now: university-wise admissions

  1. List your target universities and find each one's admission portal — every participating university runs its own process, fees and deadlines.
  2. Delhi University: the CSAS (Common Seat Allocation System) portal is live — register, pay the one-time fee, and complete preference filling when Phase 2 opens. DU allots seats over multiple rounds.
  3. BHU, JNU, AMU, Jamia and others: watch each university's admission page; most open registration within weeks of the CUET result.
  4. Keep documents ready: CUET scorecard, Class 12 marksheet, category/EWS certificates (valid and current), photographs, ID proof.
  5. Apply to multiple universities. Merit lists move unpredictably; a score that misses DU's first list may comfortably clear BHU's or a state university's.
Deadline discipline: the single most common way students lose seats now is missing a university's registration window while waiting on another's list. Put every portal deadline in your phone calendar today.

Looking ahead: CUET UG 2027

Based on recent cycles, CUET UG 2027 registration is expected around February–March 2027 with exams in May 2027. Class 12 students of 2027 can prepare directly from the NCERT syllabus of their chosen CUET subjects plus the General Aptitude Test.

CUET UG 2026 FAQs

Is the CUET UG 2026 result out?
Yes — declared on 23 June 2026 at cuet.nta.nic.in, after the final answer key on 21 June (in which 7 questions were dropped). Download the scorecard with your application number and password/date of birth.
Is there centralised CUET counselling?
No. NTA only releases scorecards. Each participating university — DU (via CSAS), BHU, JNU, AMU, Jamia and others — runs its own registration, merit lists and counselling. You must apply to each university separately.
What is a good CUET score?
It depends entirely on the course-college combination, but as a rough guide, aggregate scores around 700+ (across counted subjects) have historically placed candidates well for top DU, BHU and Allahabad programmes. Cutoffs vary sharply by course.
Is CUET compulsory for private universities?
No — only for participating universities. Many private and state universities accept CUET but also run their own admissions; universities outside the CUET system admit independently.
